TOCA dinner and a show

A Night Out Without Leaving Your House

As we are all staying home and practicing our social distancing, we may be missing the nights out with family or great friends, wonderful food and drink, and to see an amazing live performance. Thanks to modern technology and some forward thinking restaurants, you can now have a great night out from the comfort of your living room.
We recommend ordering out for food that can either be picked up or delivered. Here are some that we suggest you give a try. These great establishments have a wonderful menu and can have your meal ready for your night out… not to mention they are all supporters of TOCA.

Metropolitan Opera
Met launches “Nightly Met Opera Streams,” a free series of encore Live in HD presentations streamed on the company website during the coronavirus closure.
All “Nightly Met Opera Streams” will begin at 7:30pm EDT and will remain available via the homepage of metopera.org for 23 hours. The homepage link will open the performance on the Met Opera on Demand streaming service. The performance will also  be viewable on all Met Opera on Demand apps. Here’s the link:  Met Opera on Demand
On the BoardsTV
For years, Portland’s daring experimental theater On the Boards has been filming and streaming its programming online for reasonable prices. Now through April you can use the code ARTATHOME20 at www.ontheboards.tv to watch everything for free. See experimental classics by Young Jean Lee (The Shipment), choreographer-performance artist Okwui Okpokwasili (Bronx Gothic), Tina Satter’s Half Straddle (Seagull: Thinking of You), Radiohole (Whatever, Heaven Allows) and more. Careful not to go down an avant-garde rabbit hole-or do!
There are a number of other streaming options available and can be found with a simple Google search.
If you’re feeling just a little guilty for not having to purchase a ticket for the show, you can always donate to TOCA by visiting our website. Or… plan ahead by purchasing a gift certificate that you can use towards your ticket purchase for next season.
Please stay well and we hope to see you at the theatre again soon.
